Default Mugen n1 and fuel pressure

Any good advice about the fuel pressure on a ITR with a Mugen n1 ECU and 290cc prelude injectors ?

Actually I run 40 psi (hose connected).

Probably not a good idea to run the Prelude injectors as the N1 brain was programmed to work with the stock injectors + stock internals with I/H/E.

But then again I have no idea what your full setup is.....

Not able to find a tuner to burn you a custom map on hondata, crome etc.?

i personally would have left the stock injectors since the n-1 is tuned for them. you are just going to over-fuel your engine with the 290. the n-1 ecu is meant to run with stock internals, stock FPR, and intake, header, and exhaust.

Yes I think now I'm running rich, but there is no way to lower to the right pressure? nobody run 290 cc with mugen, spoon or other ecu?

for complete information my current setup is :

Spoon JDM B18C ‘98 spec R Engine n.3604789
NKK 6 Sprungs hub organic disc clutch + 1350 lbs pressure plate clamp load
Ice Box Comptech + Comptech filter element
AEBS Typhoon intake manifold
290cc Prelude Injectors at 43 psi fuel pressure
B&M Adjustable fuel pressure regulator at 43 psi (max output 60 psi )
B&M Fuel pressure gauge
Hondata intake manifold gasket
Ported throttle body
Throttle body heathing by-pass
Low Temp. Mugen Thermostat
Mugen Switch fan
Spoon radiator cap
RMF Narrow b18 header 2.5â€
Custom SS B-pipe 2,5†id
2.5†id flex test pipe
Apexi N1 Muffler Exhaust- 60mm
Apexi sparks wire (NGK powercable)
DENSO Iridium Spark Plug Plugs - IK24

I'd imagine lowering it may be possible with your B&M....but that might come at the expense of proper atomization.

Put your stock injectors back in.

But who knows....? Maybe it'll work for you....no way to get ahold of a wideband O2 and/or dyno time?

Angel unfortunately it is not very common to find a wideband tuner in Italy.

Yes of course I could put back in my stock , but before I would like to try with the prelude lowering pressure.

I think 45 psi (hose disconnected and pinced) could not affect a proper atimization ( it is always 3.1 bar of pressure).

But how you calculate the fuel pressure? Hose connected or disconnected and pinced ?

Anybody knows the stock fuel pressure of the prelude h22?

I was running the Mugen ECU with stock injectors, and at last year's Expo it seemed that at the upper rpm range the fuel pressure was bouncing around on the gauge during the dyno run.

I'd suggest getting a wideband O2 setup for the car and work with the fuel pressure as required to get and maintain a reasonable A/F of ~13.5:1.

A larger Walbro 225 L/hr pump would be a good idea as well.

According to the Helms manual, the fuel pressure is supposed to be checked with the vacuum hose to the FPR off (or pinched), and doing this it reads about 10 psi less than with the hose still connected. Ed

Zyg after your experience on the dyno what pressure do you suggest to run with stock injectors and the mugen?

This afternoon (in Italy) I have lowered the pressure of the 290cc at 45 psi (hose disconnect and pinced) and reading 35 psi at idle with hose connected. Do you think the flow over the stock at this pressure ?

I'd really like to be able to say ... but sadly my car was stolen before I installed the injectors and pump.

All that stuff was behind the passenger seat when the car was taken ... along whth a harness adapter and a VAFC (in case I was going to need it).
