Default no one ever asked or talks about torque!! lets get this discussion started

before bosting my jdm h22a ac, i wanted to know what are some of the effective ways of increasing my torque, which no one talks about.the reason why im asking is because i want my whp to be 92-100% of my torque.so that my acc can use the whp power more effeciently.

Honda engines are good at making Horse Power (at high rpm). Torque, not so much to talk about.

If you don't mind a slight penalty in upper end RPM's, Install a stroker kit.
Torque is more a venue of mechanical advantage (long(er) Crank arm, better M/A. and Gearing (torque multiplication). Horsepower is a function of torque, expressed as a function of time (work)

some guy was trying to sell me a h22 once, but i told ill stick to my f23. He told me something about the stroker kit but he wasnt to clear about it. Where i live high rpms is useless no room to get to even get past 4.5 rpms. I told him i want more power to take off quicker. I used to drive a mustang a couple years back so im used to hitting 5k max. I freaked out when i found out preludes and s2k can rev higher then 6k ..haha

the only true way to get more torque is to effectively get more displacement. This can be acheived by

FI or boring/stroking the engine

on a I4 that is as small are the honda's are, boring it out would yeild neglable results but at the same time not hurt the upper RPM limit since they don't rev past 6.5K and are of OHC design (less moving parts)

The best and cheapest way to do that on a honda is to reprogram your ecu to kick in the rev-limiter at about 5500rpm. You should be good to go!

JUN makes stroker kits for h22 apps.

you have to look at the whole picture(bore x stroke), just like timing advancement or ecm air/fuel tuning, it's all about compromise

you could at most bore it out to maybe 2.4L from 2.2L and .2L is not a large jump in displacement = not a large jump in torque.

your best bet to get more displacement if forced induction.
