Default B18C1 w/ JRSC into CRX possible??

I was toying with the idea of putting my built GSR motor w/JRSC and GSR tranny into a CRX or a civic hatchback (preferably a CRX) and I was wondering if any of you guys have done this before because the engine bay seems as if it might be too small to accomodate the larger engine/trans. would anyone please take the time to help out? thanks so much.

P.S. if anyone has pictures, that would be amazing!

Yes the engine and trans will fit with out a problem, but your jackson racing supercharger might have some clearence issues. It will be close, I would say go ahead and do it, the worst thing is that you will have to dent the firewall for the supercharger. Otherwise, swap the engine/trans and go get an nice turbo set-up! But I'm still a fan of the JRSC.

jrsc in ef w/ a b16a has been done a few times:

i know the b18c is alittle taller but you still should be able to make it fit without too much trouble. hopefully the pic helps you see how much space you are dealling with.

UMM, that's just a B16, no supercharger.

Yeah a GSR+JRSC has been done. I'd like to do one myself. One thing I do know is that the blower pulley comes close to the master cylinder so running a smaller pulley will get you more clearance and more boost.

Try searching for GSR and JRSC in this forum and the boosted forum.

i just took off my JRSC from my B18c in my crx 3 days ago. The only thing you need to do is manipulate the fueline comiing from the fire wall to the filter., Just use the samller pulley like stated above. its real close to the lines and MC but i never had a problem, the hardse thing for the whole oinstall was fabing a air intake and thats not that hard . It willl be 4 sale if your interested its got less than 5k on it

do it, be different, ive always liked the concept of superchargers but i would go with a vortec myself b.c ive heard better things and more torque because the jrsc runs off of the crank i believe (someone correct me if im wrong here)

I would think the place racing mounts would help alot with the fitment of the charger. Due to them placing the motor closer to the front of the car.. As the hasport mounts set back closer to the fire wall...Maybe it would be worth checking into?

Dude Vortec runs off the crank too. Problem with them is they aren't positive displacement so the boost rises with RPM. A JRSC builds it's max boost as soon as you floor it, right off idle. It would be just like pulling out a B16 and tossing in an H22, low RPM torque.

You got some wrong info there and now you're spreading it around. The alt pulley is in the exact same place it was before the JRSC. The mount pushes the alt back a few inches so there is room for the double pulley. The blower is run off the alt side of the double pulley. The dent in the engine compartment is no deeper than when you had just a B swap.
