Default Checked out some bad advice-- AutoPower-- gutted car.

I was using the SEARCH feature as advised by jaded HT'ers to find out more information on AutoPower's bolt-in Roll Bars. I read some advice where someone claimed that the AP roll bars wouldn't fit a Gutted car. I called AP and talked to a guy named DON, and he said what I thought (actually made me feel dumb for asking) fking plastic interior parts have nothing to do with bolting in a roll bar.

I just wanted to post that in case someone read that guys advice and was out of options.

****, i know i'll sleep better now.

perhaps he should have also reminded you that you were probably just reading a little too quickly, and maybe not realizing that a pre-fab bolt in cage designed to fit inside a car that retains interior panels will fit much differently than a custom fit cage designed for a gutted interior, when both are in a gutted car.

Yup, you should feel dumb for asking that. WTH wouldn't a bar that fits with the plastics in the way.... fit when they are out?

I've heard that when you have a gutted car, the motor doesn't fit anymore. Any truth to this?

smart ones unbolt the passenger seat and transport an engine in its place. much easier deck clearance.

actually i think ppl have found it fits 88 interiors without trouble. otherwise the extra door panel thickness gets in the way.

Why bother? 2 people can easily put an entire B longblock into the back of a hatchback... no removal of anything required..

Damn byatches you didnt read where I said I knew the answer, but checked anyway.

Anyway-- did you know, if you gut ur crx, and spray it with truck liner, the blood of dead smart mouth HT'ers will not be as hard to clean. Matter of fact, all you have to do is hose it out, and suck out the blood and water with a shop vac.

Truck liner is heavy ****.... just use a nice can of spray paint.

Oh and there are removable plugs that you can let the car drain through on most if not all years.

Spray can truck liner really isn't all that heavy; it goes on like spray paint. COOL stuff.
