Default Rollbars with Hardtop

For anyone who has a hardtop or even better, anyone who has done this-

Would it be possible to have a moderate roll cage (4 point say) fit under a hardtop?

Thx.

it will fit but what is your purpose for getting a rollbar or cage?

For the bling effect of course

Lol, just kidding, I'm thinking of making the car a track car in the future.

If you want a good (the best) rollbar check out the Solo I spec bar at Elda Engineering.

http://www.eldaengineering.com/

It's the only bar on the market that meets SCCA Solo I specs and it's cheaper than a custom bar.

There's a lot of good info on http://www.s2ki.com about this bar too.

if its daily driver, buy a rollbar. no cage for daily driven car

if its TRACK ONLY, get the cage

further details?

<---knows that tracks requiring roll bars will not let you slide with a hardtop instead

Yes...please elaborate. The same would hold true for Miata's and any other convertible that has an available hardtop.

im not sure how to elaborate.

we have auto-x at atco raceway in NJ, and from what i was told i can compete in a different class since i have a hard top.

my guess would be i can compete in the class that requires a roll bar. possibly the hardtop replaces the roll bar requirment. im not sure though, this is a guess.
