clutch problem

Default clutch problem

i jus put a diff s1 trans with a BRAND NEW clutch in...and for some reason i cant get the cable to adjust it to where it starts engaging a lil lower...like if i jus rest my foot on the pedal my clutch slips when i hit the gas kinda hard...any suggestions?

hmmm dunno. But aren't you supposed to break in your clutch before you start smahing on it?

well its broke in...becuz its seems like so out of adjustment that its riding it all day long.

You've got to loosen that cable somehow. Maybe the bracket got bent and is pulling it too tight beyond the point of adjustment......

which way would it have got bent to do this? up or down? also i CAN adjust it...but it doesnt seem to make a difference

Make sure the nut is spinning and the threaded part is not.

well...it spins...and adjusts only where it DISengages...where ENgages is always way at the top of the pedal which it wasnt like that before i put the other trans in so, im still stumped
