Default Motor build questions

ok so im about to start a new motor build and had a couple questions:

right now i have a Jdm sirII bi6a head so i either want to go ls/vtec or b20/vtec... i know i want to run ctr pistons on a custom rod like crower or something. my question is...

Will ctr pistons fit inside a b20z block? which block would they make the most power out of, 1.8/2.0? i want higher a high cr. ratio but does that even matter cause i know the b20z block is a high comp. block already, would it even be worth it to build the 2.0L block or just mate the stock block with a fully built head?

i tried searching this stuff but i couldnt find any answers so any info is appreciated!!! TIA

The best block would be the 2.0, there is no replacement for displacement. As for the ctr pistons fitting, you would have to check bore sizes on both of them. The B20Z is NOT a high comp motor and you have to reinforce the bottom end before you shatter your rods/rod bolts because those are the weakest parts on the LS/B20 motors.

y run forged rods on cast pistons? ctr pistons wont fit into a b20 block because the bore on a b20 block is 84mm, the pistons are 81mm and the oversized ctr pistons are 81.5mm, 2.0L would obviously make more power but a stock B20 block has weak cylinder sleeves, so you wouldnt be able to run very high compression. Bottom line: if you want to build a 2.0L bottom end you are going to have to go all out, if you want it to be reliable at least.

If you mate a fully built head to a stock b20 block you will make power but you wont have enough compression to make a lot of power.

it sounds to me ls/vtec is best for the ctr pistons
