96 civic losing oil
ok guys heres the story i just bought a 96 civic ex and it has 190,000 miles on it. 2 questions i cant find anywhere what the motor is and it loses a qt of oil every 1000-1500 miles anyone have that problem or know if its normal or should i get it checked out

Whatever you do I wouldn't put too much money in that engine. That is a very "tired" engine. It has probably had a long and hard life. Just my $0.02

do you run the motor hard? when you run a car at wot all the time it tends to suck oil from the pcv valve into the motor to help lube the top of the pistions and rings... It may also have worn out rings or valve gide seals that are leaking inside the motor just from being old..... thats not a lot of oil... I would just drive it and look for a swap to put in there when that one dies.....
