Default D15B? Can some one give me some info on his engine?

Whenever I first got my CRX (for free) it had a really bad blown head gasket. I priced out rebuilding that motor and figured out it wasn't worth it, especially considering the head could be warped (the timing cover had melted onto the engine). Anyway I got a D15B motor from japan direct w/ a warranty and all but I have been trying to find more information on the motor. I've looked through a lot of different sites and asked a lot of different honda techs.

I've read that this motor was one of the first (in Japan at least) to implement V-tec. It had around 130-135 hp. But I've also read that it came in both non-Vtec and V-tec which is very believable. The motor came without an intake or distributor, but I believe it was originally MPFI. Also on the head it is stamped "PM3" with some other numbers beside it. I'm almost certain this is non-vtec because from what I can find the heads match up with the ECU numbers. But it does have a blocking plate where a v-tec soleniod would normally be (rear pass. of head) but I've been told that in japan they ran that engine with a mechanical fuel pump and dual carbs. So, I'm not sure what to think about the engine. It runs nice minus the old DPFI system. I haven't really found out anything definite but I know more about Honda motor ID numbers than ever before!!

Thanks for any help.
