Swap wise its same as any other B.
search up as slight things will change if you are using a hyrdo tranny.

Of course somebody has done that, just use the search and find all the info you need to swap a b-series into a EF chassis since it's that common.

FAQ has a bunch of write ups on B swaps.

What obd do you plan on running?

you will need to order mounts for the hydro then.

learning is good and that FAQ is a wealth of info.

Just spend some time reading there any snags post up and we are here to help.
You don't have to use the OEM ecu but it is obd2 and you will need to do some wiring.

Contact rywire or boomslang if you want to buy a harness or search if your a diyer.

The 1996-1997 JDM ECUs are basically just OBDI ECUs with OBDII plugs.

B16B only ever came with hydro tranny. You'll need a hydro conversion kit.

Other than that, it's the exact same as any other b-series swap. Make sure you have the correct driver's side mount - you need one from a first gen b-series.

man i would swap that beast in w/ a cable b16 tranny. you would need a clutch for a cable tranny too then. i would just wire it for obd0 or 1. obd-0 you could go with a pr3 or pwo ecu. obd1 you could go with a p72, p28 or even a p13. dont do the ond2 its a pain in the *** and the wiring sux. make life simple

Wiring a 1996-1997 JDM ECU is no more difficult than wiring a P28/P30/P72.

As long as he gets a ys1 (92-93) cable tranny then the hydro clutch will also work, they are the same spline count on 92-up B-series. If he got a '91 or older B16 trans then he would need a different clutch than what the hydro tranny would use. just go with a ys1 since it will bolt right up
w/o the use of a conversion kit, factory is so much nicer IMO. and if you want you could even swap over the CTR gears right into the ys1 since they are the same size case.

Its no big deal installing a b16b, pretty much like any other b series except deciding to run a cable or hydro tranny, and what electronics to run. Here's what i have for mine:

Running OBD1 electronics on a chipped p28 with a frog harness

And i went with a jdm YS1 with lsd model:

Hmmm I dunno why you would say that. I'd like to see one with a 66301/201/207 in it.

Well, I guess I meant that from a sensor and error code point of view. Clearly, the electronics are different.
