Default b16 wiring. . . . .am I in for a lot of work??????

Here's the problem two crx's. . . . one is an hf, it has a perfectly done up b16 but the chassis is wrecked and salvege title . . . .the other is a stock dx clean title, blown d15b2 d. . .p. . .f. . .i I pulled the motor and all of the wiring removable by unclipping. Then I seen that all the wiring gets mixed into the chassis wiring. . . . So I'm asking will I have to unclip as much as I can from the hf and solder in anything un-clip-able, or can I just add a few wires from the ecu out cuz I don't wanna take out my dash and solder for like the next two days. . . .any info would be nice

what you need to do is use the wiring from the DX.

you modify it by doing a MPFI swap to it using parts from the HF's harness, like the resistor box and injector clips.

this is the most simple way, since your doing everything it will have less problems. it will seem like a lot of work but its really not, dont be afraid of it.

once the MPFI is done you run wires for vtec, 2nd o2 sensor, oil pressure and one more.

but one thing at a time, search on here for MPFI swap. there are how tos around with images, maybe someone can chime in with links...

once your MPFI is done, then you just change the 4 wires as if it was an SI. if you swap the HF wiring in the main plugs under the hood wont line up, and youll be in for a world of hurt.

if you want to skip wiring you can order a harness from http://www.boomslang.us or http://www.rywire.com

Pretty simple really, just do as mentioned above and search for MPFI conversion and you'll be much better off than swapping your HF stuff.

What about the clips that connect into the ecu won't they be different cuz I looked at a wiring diagram for a b16 and my d15 and it looked like it had around 12 more wires. . . And about the resistor unit, would there be a difference since the d15 uses less fuel than a b16 does? And by run do you mean use fresh wires or run the wires that are already on the b16? And I was confused wen you said wire up the 2nd o2 sensor, am I supposed to run two to smog?

you could also remove the wiring harnesses and install the hf harness in the dx probably would take a full day. I took one out of an hf took about 3 hours.

don't do this.

just convert your car to mpfi, it's been done thousands of times. Just search for "mpfi" or "mpfi swap" either here or in google. It's not that difficult. You already have everything you need to get the dx running with the b16. after you do the mpfi, you have to wire in the necessary vtec wires and the second o2 sensor. It's really simple. Even if you go with a premade harness from a company, you still have to wire the extra wires in yourself at the ecu; it is NOT plug and play. So save your money and do it yourself.

Can I get some one to post a link cuz whenever I search I end up finding a @$$load of threads with guys talkin about just finishing their swaps and they have problems. . . . . . .not solutions and when I add walk thru to the search criteria it sez no results soooo I took a look to try and figure out and it looked like the two big clips on the left and right side are the same only the one on the right has three less pins so I'm lookin for a link that desribes which color goes where, cus I've taken apart similar harness clips to clean them out, I think ill be able to handle it

Most of these links have even more links in the thread but it should be more than enough to help you out

And this one takes a little to load but it is an actual JDM haynes manual that has ALL you factory info you need, if this does not help you out then your totally screwed!! j/k lol

Here's a good start:

Look in the CIVIC /CRX FAQ 2.0 at the top of the page.

Anyone should there before asking questions.

There are several step by step DPFI to MPFI instructiosn linked right there. I know because I'm doing the same thing this week, and printed them all off. Wire colors, connector pins, etc, its all there...

If you buy a converted mpfi harness, you still have to do all the hard work and wire it into your ecu plugs, so don't even bother. It's really not difficult at all. Don't let a few wires scare you. I've been making these conversion harnesses for years, and everytime I do it, I still feel guilty because it's really just so simple, yet people still keep coming to me to have it done. Oh well, money is nice.

My first search in yahoo yielded these results:

http://hondacrx881.tripod.com/mpfiswap.html
http://www.geocities.com/c_rexboy/mpfi.html
http://crxresource.org/modules...old=0
http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/mpficonversion.htm

they all say the same thing, just pick one and follow it, and you'll be good to go.

I wired my car using instructions and parts from here.

However, I have wired several other cars using a boomslang conversion harness.
Of the two methods, the boomslang harness is easiest to do but if you need to save money just convert it yourself.
