Default 92 Accord EX AT problem

Where do I begin? I hope someone out there has had this same problem and can give me a solution. When my car warms up after 10 or 15 min the trans acts like it is in neutral. If I let the car cool down it shifts fine until it heats up again. The Honda Techs ( my friends ) say I need a new on rebuilt TCU. HELP!!! before I spend way too much $$$$.

If your D4 light is lit, when it shouldn't be. TCU is probably the problem. If you could open up the box and look inside you could confirm this. There would be black stuff leaked from capacitors on the circuit board.

If you buy one from the dealer it will cost you a bundle of $$$$$. So you may want to try and find a used or rebuilt one. Good luck.

Have you tried to get the code from the TCU?

If after 15 minutes, the trans drops out of gear and won't move; I'd be hard pressed to condemn the TCM on this one.
If, what you're saying that after 15 minutes you've got 1st and reverse, then yes; you've got engagement, but it won't up-shift (then yes it could be the TCM) but
If you have no engagement, most likely it's internal to the transmission (you're loosing pressure).
This is not a fly-by-wire system; the shift control cable actually engages the trans, the TCM controls shift function.
Have you checked the fluid for both quantity and contamination?
My '88 wouldn't up-shift cold, and a trans flush took care of it. But yours is completely opposite.

Thanks for all suggestions!!!!
