Default ? to people that have had motors shipped to them.

I am getting a motor from hmotorsonline.com tomorrow. The guy is bringing it on an 18 wheeler and it will have a lift. Now for the dumb question. How do I get the motor into my garage? It is going to be on a pallet I believe and I dont have a cherry picker.

Sorrry I've never had a motor shipped to me, but I do work at a garage so i know about moving motors around. Now your case is you probably don't have a cherry picker ( engine crane). If your motor will come on a wooden crate have you and another buddy walk it one side at a time or just slide the thing. Always watch your back and the heavy weight though. Well that's all i can tell you.

Yeah, they're not all that heavy really. I can lift a d by myself (though it's pretty damn hard for me) so you and a buddy or two could def shuffle it around to where it needs to go.

Here is the funny part. The guy tried to tell me the shipping weight was 500lbs. That doesnt seem right at all. I remember seeing the motor weights on here so i guess im going to check that out. Its a b16 sir 2

500 pounds is outrageous. I'd say prolly 200 just guessing.

EDIT: 280 is what I see buried in the archives, , I suck.

I dunno, like logs or something. You know how you put heavy stuff on rollers and then just move them from back to front so you can keep rolling it easily.

screw the pallet, just grab life by the horns (or just the engine) with a friend, then move the pallet into ur garage.

TIE ONE END OF THE PALLET TO A ROPE, AND ANOTHER TO YOUR GARAGE, AND PRESS THE GARAGE OPENER BUTTON, TO DRAG IT INSIDE

When I bought my motor from them, he came and had a pallet mover thingy. Put it right in my garage and no fuss, no mess.

lol umm yes they will have it shrink raped on a skid for you i guess i know mine was when i ordered it from hmotor a few months ago but i would just call and double check. also did u request a lift gate that does help i had 4 people just grab the skid and carry it its a little heavy but its not to bad if u have a few people there when it comes. dont worry unless you ordered a whole car you shouldnt have a prob getting it off the truck if u have a little musle to help you tho

I put my motor on a pair of lay-down hand trucks and wheeled it in. But it was also just a longblock...

when I bought my jdm d15b swap w/trans attatched, it took me and a buddy to lift it up out of the delivery truck and carry it over to where it needed to be in the garage. d-series engines aren't too heavy; if you can do a couple pushups, you should have no problem moving the engine on a pallette w/a buddy helping
