Calling all CRXers **Need estimate opinions**
All right guys not sure if this is the best place to post this question but I guess a mod will figure that one out. Anyway alot of you guys already know I smashed my RR 1/4 panel on my 90 Si CRX
(click here for thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1540914 )
and repairing it will just cost alot of money
So I got very lucky with the CRX fairy because not only did I come across a free '91 Si Shell, I also came across an '89 CRX DX that has been in the guys possession for 12 years!!!!! It's never been wrecked but it has ALOT of miles on it, 323,xxx but it drives solid and has not rust other than on the exhaust past the muffer. I am not going to tell you guys what the price range is because I really want some opinions of what a fair price is for it, I will be picking it up in about 2 weeks but want it as cheap as I can get it so any and all HONEST opinions are welcome
AC works as well as everything else, there is a small ding in the driver door but in the pic it looks like the 1/4 is also dented (but it's not), the glove box is busted, the interior is "ehhhh" but the climate control is still pretty much intact w/ a small crack. the pics pretty much tell all so any feedback will help me out, thanks guys.

w00t w00t go for it. It even has a hitch for your tire trailer so you can finally come to the track with us. It has some little problems but I would snap it up....so where did you say this car is located at?

So just through a $$ price $$ range out so I can gauge all the opinions.

I would pay about 1700 for it. Just because who ever owned it before took enough care of it to last as long as it did then its going to last a lot longer

not to jack the post or anything, but why does the 55 on the speedometer look different? does it have something to do with fuel economy? hopefully im not asking a stupid question

pretty sure it's from back when the speedlimit was 55 everywere. i think all older cars have it.

Don't pay over a grand. Depending on how the engine runs, you may have to replace it soon and that can be factored into the bargain.
Otherwise, nice find!

That's pretty sweet cause that is the exact range I have it down too. It really does drive good but with the high mileage I am a little reluctant to spend over $1000 but I may go $1,100 simply due to the fact there is NO RUST or damage. Either way I really think I am getting a decent deal now, just wanted to gauge you guys responses before i posted the price. Looks like this will be taking over as my Project SiR II Rex so I will keep it posted as progress develops

Any more opinions??? Even though I have a good idea now I would still love some more honest feedback, the more the marrier!!!
323k or not, that's pretty clean. You can repair any issues cheaply that might be caused by high mileage. Front end parts and engine parts are extremely cheap for these cars as we all know.
to give u an idea, i just picked up a nearly bone stock 89 Si with 280K, clean title, straight body, clean interior, sohc zc swap with the smoothest cable tranny i ever felt, very well taken care of for $1500 including smog.
for that red CRX, i'd pay $1000 top.
