Default insurance question

i am buying a new car in the next week or two and i have found two cars i really like. one is a 1999 Civic EX Coupe and the other is a 1995 Integra GSR coupe.

i got quoted for full coverage on the civic for $179/month and i didn't get a quote on the GSR, now what i want to know is if the GSr is going to be more expensive on insurance.

also i'd like to have a little help on deciding which car to buy.

1999 honda civic EX coupe
5speed
no dings great condition
104,000 miles
new timing belt/water pump

1995 Integra GSR
130,000 miles
few dings on doors from opening.
new timing belt/ water pump
new clutch at 115,000 miles
full leather & options

now i know the GSR is more badass and faster, but i already have a wrecked 1993 civic EX so i was going to use it for parts and things for my civic since my wrecked one has new shocks tires/wheels. also engine parts like sensors and such, if they will even switch over from a D16z6 to a D16y8, i also like the gas mileage the civic will produce.

i also need a car to last me at least 3 more years, throughout college.
would i have more problems with the higher mileage B18? and would it be more of a hassle to take care of in the next few years.

what would be the better buy

i also do not have much money to go around i am looking to spend around $400/month on insurance and payments

thanks, any input would be greatly appreciated

i found out insurance for the GSR will only be $150/month so it is a lot cheaper. should i go ahead and get it? also are B18's reliable is there any problems i will run into in the future with this motor i want it to last to at least 200k miles without major repairs.

lasting to 200k miles is asking for alot IMO. because if your gonna pick up the gsr, you know your gonna open it up alot. gsr has more miles, dings. go with the civic.

Maintence will cost you in the long run for the gsr. so the $30 difference in the inusrance will even out with the maintence you would spend on the GSR

even though the gsr has more mileage..its not buy much...compared to the civic...i have the 99 civic ex coupe too...i love my civic but the stock motor is just too weak bro...but remember that a civic will always be more reliable and give you more mpg...even though i can do a motor swap its going to cost a grip...in ending you should get the gsr...its full leather and has the B18...just maintence it well and you shouldn't have a problem...

what kind of problems will i run into with the GSR, i mean anything besides a few sensors here and there. I honestly do not plan on ragging it out or changing it from stock. He bought it from the original owner 40yrs old and he said he never modded it just changed timing belt and water pump, and the brakes. I don't know much about them so i am only asking for help on if they have any problems like gasket leaks with H22's. this will be my daily driver and i drive 50 miles a day and try and keep around 65mph to keep mpg at its highest on the expressway.

i talked to the guy today on the GSR he said it has no oil leaks or fluid leaks, he said it has been changed every 3000 miles with 5w30 valvoline but he said it burns no oil and runs strong. he is selling it because he needs money for his upcomming marriage.

$6,000 for either car. i drove the civic today it had water in the trunk i dunno why and it didn't smeel like it was down there long. it also has 10,000 more miles than i thought originally so it had 115,000 miles.

the civic also had several cigarette burns and when i drove it and would let off the gas, the shifter would move like it was loose or something. it felt like the motor had weak mounts and the shifter moved with it. i know that prolly isn't the case but thats what it felt like, is that common in 96-00 civic's?

i am going to eb test driving the GSR thursday.

get the gsr, future expenses include but are not limited to Timing Belt (change it every 60,000 or suffer with a very expensive fix) water and oil pump (safe to do the water pump with your timing belt, oil pump if you keep up on oil changes every 100,000 should do) those are the major fixes you will see before 200,000 wether you beat the car or not, these things wear out, want to make them last a lil longer, go with a greedy timing belt (they claim it last 100,000 miles), it my opinion, I have spent well over 30,000 in honda parts and Im just sharing so that you may learn from my mistakes (because i didn't do any of the things I told you and blew thru 3 swaps before I learned) good luck with the ride man.

That 96-00 civic had a problem with the trunk seal letting water into the trunk. A new rubber gasket should fix that.

I say GSR, but keep in mind Honda suggests using 93 octane gas for the B18C1. Thats what I would use. So each fill up will cost you a little more, and the GSR will get about 5MPG less compared to the civic. Difference in insurance cost should cover that.
