Default Help Honda techs, car won't crank..

1994 Honda Accord EX
Automatic transmission
120k miles

ok for some odd reason my wifre's car just will not crank. It's been driving great with no problems...somehow it just won't crank. I tried

- Jumped the battery and it's not it.
- The battery terminals were clean..and i even double cleaned them with brush..still not it.
- I checked the fuses and all seems fine
- It has a half tank of gas
- Car is in P (Park)
- Sounds like fuel pump is working when i turn the key

What else can it be? Help me out. Can it be the starter?

Any help/info will be appreciated....thanks.

First thing I would check is the starter relay. If you can hear the relay click when you hit the key, than you knows its good. If thats good id hook a voltmeter to the terminal on the starter and hit the key, to see if you are getting voltage to the starter. If you are getting voltage and no cranking, than you know you need a starter.

Sounds good.

This may not apply, but I've seen alarm systems completely disable a cars ability to start when they are tampered with. For example putting in a stereo can affect an alarm and disable the cars ignition.

Long shot, but I've disabled car alarms in situations like this and suddenly the car stars.
