Check Engine Light... Please HELP
My check engine light went on today.
I only have about 4700km on my car. "Yes only 4700km"
This morning I was planning to take my car out but when I turned on my engine, i saw the dam check engine light. I didn't know what was wrong with my engine. I thought it would turn off if i re-start the car but it was still there. So i took it out anyways to check if it was just a sensor problem. My car was jerking really hard when i apply gas around 3000rpm ... so i took it to acura to get it checked out. At acura they said my O2 sensor was the problem so they replaced a new O2 sensor and changed my oil for me. I really didn't think the problem was coming from the O2 senor. the check engine light turned off after the new O2 sensor was replaced but when i was driving home, my car started to jerk again.. guess what.. the light came on again..
Please I need help? anyone know why this is happening? why would my car jerk like crazy? and the check engine light?
I don't trust acura but its still under warranty so???? and suggestion? o

Tell the dealership to look for a bad O2 pin sensor connection. I had the same problem awhile back and it was a long process in finding the problem. And it all turned out to be a simple loose(bad) connection.
Now I'm not saying this is what has happen, but they abviously ran the code and came up with *bad O2 sensor* And if the problem has come up again then it's not the O2 sensor. One of the drastic step they will take is replacing the ECM, but have them check for a bad pin connection. It's not fun driving your baby in "limp" mode... believe you me, I know.
"Been there, done that"
I hope this helps your local dealership run down the problem quickly. I was going to the dealership every day for a little over 2 weeks before they finally "stumbled" on the problem.
And they already have the code.... but sometimes they need a push in the right direction.

That's why they need to dig deeper most of the time and the first solution my not always be the right one... Very common when it comes to mechanics and automotive care

thanks guys, for all the help. I'll keep you guys up to date about the problem
i'll take my car into acura (which i really don't like but it's still under warrenty) tomorrow. hopfully they find out what the problem is.
i know there is a primary O2 sensor and a secondary O2 sensor. could the secondary sensor make that big of effect on my car?
what could cause my engine to jerk so hard and cutting out at 3500rpm? just a simple O2 sensor? (i hope just a faulty sensor some where)
i've also heard that it could be my MAP sensor ?

Dude, check the code...it's so easy to do, and when you know what the problem is then you can fix it yourself and be sure of what was done.

I took my car to acura today.
the Code was PO132
I was told the PGM reader was still reading the faulty O2 sensor.
So they checked my O2 sensor again and reset the check engine light. the services manager told me to come back if the problem occurs again. *of course *
right after i left acura, my car jerked again and felt like it was going to cut out. but this time the check engine light didn't go on so i took the car around for a long drive and everything seems to be okay.. but not sure if that dam check engine is going to go on again. *hope not*
any idea why? this would happen? For some reason i still don't think the problem is coming from my O2 sensor but anyways. do you guys know how to tell what the code stand for?

grr screw the code they get. You should have spent the 2 minutes getting the fuggen MIL code and we would have helped you, but since you are too fuggen lazy to do that...

first off, i dont think that PO132 is a code, can anyone confirm?
as for the prob being the rear o2 sensor i highly doubt that b/c i have a bad o2 sensor in my car and my car doesnt not jerk at all. if i were you i would go back to the dealership and biach them out

FIY:
P0132 : Indicates a high voltage problem in the Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S).
As you said MIL? how would i get the MIL code? any links?
and what's MIL stand for?

Read the second post of this message, the question has already been answered. Do yourself a favor and check the code yourself. After you figure out how to do it the first time, you might spend a minute finding the code each time going forward. It's 20x easier than changing your oil.
