ss brake line question...
so I'm taking my old lines off to put some ss ones on.... and I think these are already SS... Reason being is the outer sheath on one of them is busted open and underneath is a nice and shiny steel braided line.... I guess I didn't think they were cause it has a black outer sheath but um... wow... so uh... do I leave these on or replace with some russel lines that i got cheap but the outer protective sheat is still in tact although slightly discolored...
lol the bike was used and there was never any mention of ss lines. they looked stock so i figured I'd get some and slap them on. only concern with the ones on there is the outer sheath is busted in the one place. i can grab a pic here and show you. the others are in good condition just slightly discolored...
Y'know what, I have no clue. AFAIK, all SS makers purposely put on clear plastic over their lines so you can see that they really are SS lines. Using this argument, I would venture that your lines are not SS lines.
Hope you are able to figure it out.

like i said the pics suck cause the camera is a pos and i couldn't get it to focus on the right thing. plus i was in a rush. im positive they were ss but the new ones are on and bled already. though i destroyed a bolt so i gotta get a new one tomorrow
oh i didn't get a new one of those. i just re-bled everything. i want a clutch and rear brake line a lil later... i imagine it should give a better feel though... my fluid from before was looking a lil ugly so put new stuff in
nah. god I would've been so frustrated if I had. changing the 2 made a mess. and bleeding the others in addition is just a pain. summertime ill probably get new ones for the clutch and rear
i used a little over 1 12oz bottle. if i hadn't needed to completely redo the fronts i could've done 1 bottle. I'd get two and hopefully you don't need the second until sometime later....

Just out of curiousity, how much brake fluid did you go through to bleed the clutch and front brake and rear brake reservoirs? I've only done each one, one at a time.</TD></TR></TABLE>
i completely bled my duc's front/rear and clutch liens..didnt even use 1/2 of my bottle of motul

Was it a ten gallon bottle?
Good to know the Duc's are frugal somewhere.

well i used about 6 fl oz on the front alone just to be safe. went out today and they seem to be slightly better then the old ones... i think these lines are bigger then the others too...
