Default tranny install help needed well just a boot I guess.

alright doing a tranny swap ran into about a 2 hour delay on the right ball joint. it was a serious pain I cant even tell you 2 hours of beating the crap out if it hammer, pickle everything in sight. finally it decided to come off.
the issue that I am having though is a boot that is ripped to shreds. can I just get the boot of do I ahve to replace the whole thing? any help would be great.

you can just replace the boot no need to buy a new axle

Then your ball joint will get full of dirt and fail.

oh and thats not a good thing. so can I just go to the honda dealership and ask for some ball joint boots? what are the names for the boots on the upper and lower control arm cause I think I ripped them both. can I reuse those clips or do I have to cut them and replace them. and just put some high temp grease in there any particular way to do that. thanks again for the heads up I just have to get this done tomorrow and would like to get it done all at once and not have to worry about it later. oh and sorry if there is a thread on ball joint boots I just didnt know all the right terms to use to get results from a search.

dude if you beat the living **** out of it, I would just replace it. You might have some issues when you put it back together. like it's going to be loose. They are only $30.

Next time lower balljoint doesn't wonna come off, take off the top one.

there expensive at honda i went last week and got the whole ball joint cost me 57 dollars.i later found out you can go to like schucks or napa and get one for a lot cheaper. i always try to avoid the dealership because thats where they make there money on all the parts. i thought a ball joint would be one of those things you have to get at the dealership but it is not.

Default flywheel bolt stripped

well went to advanced and auto zone no luck. ended up going to honda. spent about 12 on 4 boots. well seems like you win some and you loose some spent another 2 hours on the car and ran into more issues. 1 fly wheel bolt wont come off ended up stripping it. got some ideas though. going back and trying from 5-8.

What? I don't get it. You are supposed to take of the axle nut before you try to the the balljoint loose.

You have to buy the circkip separately. Remove the circlip gently so that you can reuse it with the new one.

Drop a glob of grease into the corners of the boot before slipping it on.
