Help my dad help himself
Hey guys,
So my bad has had a non-functional back window for about 6 months now and he FINALLY got tired of have wood shims to keep the window up, and now he's letting me have a crack at it. Anywhoos, the window motor still works and I am presuming that the glass came off the guide.
So my question is, what are the steps for getting the glass back on track? Door card removal?thanks in advance

You may find (once you dig into it) that you've a broken window regulator.
As a matter of conversation: here's the parts detail of a 5th Gen Accord Rear Door window system. (you never said what year you've got)

It's a '97 Accord LX, so Ill take a gander at the problem in the next few minutes. Thanks for the heads up though, thats great to know before I start.
PROGRESS: I have the door card off and now am in a pickle. Im not exactly sure how a power windows work. From what I can see it looks like the regulator has two flexable shafts that connect to a top white peice of plastic.
Once I got the door card off I can hear a *new sound like the engine is worn, and the sound of the cable banging against the glass.
I would like to know if I can adjust anything or the best thing to do is to get a new window regulator (assuming that is what I need)?

Like most thing Japanese, it's hardly ever the electric stuff which causes heartaches; and their window regulators are no exception.
The common window regulator issue is a broken cable. If you can manually grab the glass and raise/lower it, I would believe the cable's broken and it requires the regulator be replaced.
One thing you must remember (however), these things don't just get it into their heads they just want to break; usually it's something else that has caused it to fail....and 9 of 10 times it's a window binding while moving in it's guide tracks (Channels). They ARE adjustable, and bear a close scrutiny b4 you button it all up.

Now that's an answer, and I offer Kudos to you. The window can be pulled up by hand, and has yet again been placed with wood shims.
I called up two local Honda dealers one offering $159.55 while the other is $175.78... I guess for something as crucial and electric OEM parts it isnt too baad. The bad part is the labor required (as I was quoted 1.5 hours). I popped the door card off in less than 5 mins and am VERY able to do anything short of a tranny rebuild. I am just a SMIDGE blank on where all of the linkage goes... maybe I am just worrying too much and should just place what I find where I found it (except for that floppy unsheaen cable).

I think you should have a discussion with the Honda Dealers who quoted you $175.00 for the regulator, he's way off base. The Honda suggested list is $146.00 each. !!
72710-SV4-003 (REGULATOR), R/S. RR. DOOR (POWER) - 1 $146.48 List $108.10 Wholesale/Jobber (on-line price)
72750-SV4-003 (REGULATOR), L/S. RR. DOOR (POWER) - 1 $146.48 List / $108.10 Wholesale/Jobber (on-line price)
This dealer (Saccucci Honda)
https://www.hondapartsdeals.co...B++54
and Majestic Honda both sell at wholesale/jobber prices (to the public) thru their E-Stores. If you can wait a few days, you can save the tax and at least $50.00 for the part
All you'd have to do is have it installed.

Before you go spending big bucks on parts, you really need to take the electric regulator assembly out of the door and check the parts. I had a 1992 Civic with a similar problem and it was the flexible regulator coupling. It was all of about $28 for the part and took 10 minutes to install it in the regulator assembly. Pull that assembly out and check the cable and other parts before ordering anything. All sub assembly component parts are available from Honda. If your in a cold climate the window may have been iced shut and somene attempted to keep opening the window breaking the flexible coupling. (Thats what happened to mine.)

It does seem the braided steel line is not in place, and from the Honda dealers Ive spoken too the assembly comes as an assembly and not in parts. It is something to look at more closely, now I just have to wait for the rain to stop.

From the Illustration which I supplied you ('97 LX 4dr Accord) will note there in no intermediate "coupler" between the Regulator and the lower window glass sash.

This is the detail of the '92 LX 4dr Civic which Hondaman56 was discussing. The Item in question that he's referring to is #6 (a collar, I believe)
https://www.hondapartsdeals.co...B++54
You will notice the Accord differs from the Civic

Hey, all I do is compile the info and present it.
Like everything about this; it's always a draw your own conclusions type thing.
Glad I could help.
