Default 99 v6 accord transmission

Does anybody in the N.Y.C area know an excellent tranny shop that gives a real warranty? I need to have mine rebuilt .

Honda makes a special trans that comes from Japan. You would be better off finding a rebuilder that is in the know of a honda trans!

They don't so much do shody work as charge three times as much for the same repair. One avenue you might try is to hook up with an Import Specialty Repair shop which specializes in Honda's (I'm surprised you haven't already). If anyone can steer you to a qualified rebuilder, they should.
Another point: if you have your maintaince reciepts (and have been doing the trans fluid changes as scheduled) you might approach Honda for some assistance.
They extended the Accord/Odessey Transmission warranty to 100k on certain '00 and '01 vehicles for premature failures.
They have been stepping up to the plate on Partial assistance on '98's and '99's as well.
It could be worth a phone call.
