Cut to the chase:
Input shaft spins but after about 3-4 rotations the diff stops spinning...any ideas? Just trying to get an idea on what IT MIGHT BE... This tranny was GOOD before I took it apart.

I figure you guys prolly break a good number of trannies and might know what the deal is...

 

Get it open and make sure that everything is set back the way it is suppossed to be...double check...Did you make any changes to the differential?...If so recheck clearance and make sure that it is not rubbing on anything.

 

WOuld shims be the problem here? I just can't imagine that the input shaft would fail to rotate the diff if its a shim issue.

 

If the differential is too tight...it won't spin

I understand where you are going... But the input shaft still spins......doesn't this seem odd?

 

Something may be off or not set straight...that may cause a slip then stick type of effect.
