boosting 92 accord
Depends if you want to build your own kit with new or used parts or buy a complete kit to get you started. A kit that you piece together with used parts could start under $2,000 and complete kits can reach above $3,000 to get you started. It all depends on preference as far as money spending and new or used parts or both.
Well to peice a kit together you could use petty much everything from a 90s eclipse talon or laser.Believe it or not they work on a f22!
It's not an exact fit you have to drill out a few of the bolt holes on the dsm manifold bigger so they will fit on the f22 head but it works and alot of people have done it...If you go that way stear clear of a t25 turbo that you find on some of the dsms it's way to small.and most dsm's have the waste gate set at 8psi.wich is a good boost level for an f22
Another way to go is a turbo manifold for a92-93 h23 for a prelude si.
That would be cool because IMO about the most ideal and inexpensive turbo for the f22 is a T3 turbo with a 60.AR.
If you run 8-10 psi of boost that turbo will spool nice an stay efficiant all the way up to 6500 rpm.
And for engine management you can go with a chipped P06 ecu and run Uberdata crome or Neptune.
Find a good tuner in your area and let him decide wich program he wants to edit your ecu with.
I researched all this for almost two months so your getting alot of my hours of reading and searching in one post.Theres alot more to it then I just wrote but those are two good examples of a cheap way to do it.
A good turbo setup done right and with all the parts bought and tuned can cost as much or as little as you can find the parts.realisticlly it could be like anywhere from
$800-$2500

ok so i could buy a h23 manifold, and what is a 60.AR? am i gonna have to do anything major to the engine? its got 130k on it but still runs fine. so if i went with that T3 setup, what all do i need to buy? thank you for your help.
I don't understand A/R exactly myself it's basically the Area ratio of the turbine.
A turbo with a small A/R will spool quickly but suffer at High rpm because it's to small to flow the amount of air the engine needs.
But a larger A/R will spool slower because the air move through it slower but give it will you more HP at high rpm.But you can't go to big because your engine may not even be able to spool a large turbo until your almost at redline any way.
You need to find the right sized turbo for your car with a good balance of spool time and enough flow to not actually smother your engine at high rpm.

I got into talking about A/R and didn't answer your question.
to answer it here's a good thread to read about 200 times in a row.

Yeah the H23 manifold fits an f22.
But the H22 Doesn't.
And no Your stock ECU should be a PT3 that you can't chip for any of the programs i talked about before.you need a P06 or a p28 ECU would work to.

The dsm turbo setup isn't a bad way to go it could be cheaper to.Think about it you could buy a whole like 92 laser from someone and if your lucky get a good turbo, manifold, wastegate blow off valve,450 injectors and maybe a inner cooler for a few hunderd bucks.
And you will need the 450s to make anykind of hp and not overwork your stock injectors and run lean.A lean A/F (air fuel ratio) will destroy your engine.

mpxs20, you have TONS of reading to do before you buy anything.
this will keep you busy for a day or two:

also, you might want to read around http://www.homemadeturbo.com. That site doesnt have the friendliest members, but has VERY good information.

nope, you're stock ecu is not a p06, the p06 is off a civic.
you need to read up more on chipping.

Thats cool race accordingly.I may check into that.I think I have a free Laser coming to me but it's not confirmed yet.
And if it doesn't happen then I'll need another option.

Not many sell them anymore. Accord R33 was the first to start selling them, but I guess he retired from that, then there was AcclipseH23, he might do it for you, i duno, talk to him. I know there are able people that might do this for a price, but i really dont see why peope dont peice it together themselves. I mean, all those guys do is go to junkyards and pick all the parts, anyone can do that.
Im not trying to start ish with anyone now, I get along with all those guys, especially acclipseh23. im just saying, even tho those kits are inexpensive, you can save more money by going out and peicing it yourself.

Yeah I know what your saying.I have a buddy who works at a junkyard and theirs another you pull and save type one that I go to all the time.
But the problem is those dsm cars are kind of rare around here. And trust me as soon as they drop one in the yard all the choice parts are gone in a few hours.
You have to be real lucky and be their at exactly the right day and time.
