if you have the b16 head, swap in the b18block and slap on the b16 head for a ls/vtec conversion.

i don't know the laws in the state that you live in but...in california if you want to stay street legal your going have to swap a 99 motor or newer inorder to have your car smogged.

If you do go with this setup i'd say LS/Vtec/TUrbo :-D all the beauties of honda in one :-D.

swaping b18 to a 99 si i think its a waste of money. b16 is good enough i would add a turbo to it...

well, it realy depends. if its a fully built engine, you can get more out of it then the stock b16. you would need to convert EVERYTHING. crank angle sensor, all smog sensors. it can be done.

fully built or not, its the vtec man...stay with the B16, unless you got the money for a ls/vtec/turbo setup, like everyone else on here suggested...BTW....you got any pix of your SI....

no, no its not. why do people think vtec is gods gift to mankind?

a fully built b18 engine will hold 2x the boost a b16 can. sure if your talking stock vs stock, but were not. he said the engine is setup for turbo, that to me means forged internals, iron sleeves, maybe cams and valves, port and polish. with a properly setup engine the b18 will have alot more horsepower and alot more torque then the b16 will.

this is true..we dont know whats done to the LS.... when swaping the ls into the SI you will need the integra rear mount, and swap the b16 upper timing belt mount onto the b18

you must know your hondas shaun. you are correct. the following is a list of the mods on the motor: forged, micro polished, knife edged crank, smr forged h beam rods, acl high flow main bearings, and rod bearings, 84mm 8.5:1 wiseco dished and coated pistons. the block has been honed, decked, and hot tanked, and sleeved.there is a brand new head w/ a stage 3 port and polish 10,000 rpm revhard springs, stage 3 turbo cams, custom turbo manifold, the intake manifold has beenported and polished to 71 mm. it also has a high flow oil and water pump. o three layer metal head gasket. i was told by several different engine builders that the motor was cabable of safely boosting to 25 pounds. with a 150 shot of nitrous the motor should easily be able to produce 500 hp to the wheels give or take.with a heavy duty stage 3 clutch, possibly a multi disc but i dont want to go too crazy and loose any possibility of the car being a daily driver. i know im gonna need to up grade the axels, swap an ls tranny in w/ the motor, and use the integra rear mount but, i dont know what else im gonna need and how to go about the swap so if you could aks someone to help i would forever be in your debt because i really want this swap to happen. ive never owned a turbo car bofore so right now i need all the help i can get please help me transform my civic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good except the part about swap in an ls tranny. The si tranny is fully compatible with the b18b and is lightyears shorter geared.Ofcourse the highway driving issue comes in with the b16 tranny.IMO i would trade the b16 tranny for a gsr tranny and have a good balace.Short gears but not too short.Just my .02

i would much rather have a fully built LS than a stock b16. Keep the b16 tranny, swap the LS motor, and go have fun at the track.
