Had a great AutoX here in Austin today - started out in a frickin' tornado and severe downpour - but the day ended up being sunny and hot eventually. I was fighting some severe push in th morning but eventually had it right...

One incident go me concerned and I want to ask the gurus here about it. After my morning runs (3) I parked in the pits, after about 2 minutes I decided to move the car just a bit and when I fire it up a big blue smoke billow is coming out the back from the exhaust. I checked the oil level and it looked to be high - and noticed more smoke coming out near the dipstick. I let it cool and fire it up again and no smoke - drove her around and it was running fine. I ran the afternoon runs without a problem.

Any ideas what that could have been? Should I be concerned?

Nobody would have any suggestions as to why smoke was billowing out of my exhaust and now is fine?

 

Well when I ran the skidpad on V700s at a BMWCCA event a while back, smoke began to pour out of my exhaust. It was a clear result of oil shifting to one side of the head. Once it settled all was fine and I've had no problems since. Also my R doesn't consume oil all that much either and it only sees track time.

But Damn, what has become of the old Honda-Tech? 6 months ago I could have posted a problem about smoke puring out of my exhaust and I would have a page or 2 full of informed, expert opinions and suggestions...:sigh:

 

I am still a newbie and I miss all the informative posts to learn from...
