First of all, stop street racing.

Second, you have no idea what modifications the guy did to his car.

Weight really would kill u that much on the freeway or any rolling start for that matter. Maybe he was just quicker. (there is always gonna be that one car u beat all day, but it'll get u once.) and yeah, stop street racing!

im guessing you talked to the guy because you knew he had an ls. but if you didnt you probably raced someone with a swap and got beat. in that case come race me then come on here saying you got beat by a civic dx.

Not necessarily...I've seen 180whp non-VTEC LS's. If the dude he raced had a pnp head, Crower 404's, and pistons, he would have lost by a lot. You can't underestimate the LS motor. Just because they don't have VTEC doesn't make them inferior.

i would think it would have something to do with the gearing... and the stroke. not claiming to be an expert on the matter, but just something i heard about an LS having a longer stroke than the GSR and different gearing, which could have caused an advantage. also, 100lbs will add a tenth of a second... so if you had an extra 450 pounds in the car with you (assuming your three buddies weighed 150 each) that would be almost a half second slower. .45 to be a little more precise.

.45 at the dragstrip, not the freeway right?

The absence of VTEC in that case would yield a car that has no low end torque and is cumbersome during normal driving. This would be the equivalent of switching to VTEC at say 1000RPM.

Yes the LS has slightly more displacement. The GSR is 1797cc, while the LS is 1834. The gearing of the LS wouldn't cause an advantage though. The longer the gears, the slower the acceleration. It's like either running up a shallow hill, or running up a steep hill. Shorter gears=faster. And yes, at the dragstrip, every 100lbs, is a tenth of a second. I used to rape this CRX on the freeway, but I had two people in the car, and he whooped my ***! Weight has a lot to with it.

You suck at driving. Is that the answer you were looking for? Either way both cars are slow.

well he could have easily been a well built LS. the LS motor makes a lot of torque. my buddy had an all motor LS that smoked damn near anything on the block including turbo rx-8s
