Default My driver's seat broke-98 Accord

I was driving to work yesterday and all of a sudden the driver's seat felt like it became detached from car I got to work and found that the steel bracket connecting the seat to the car had broke in half. WTF? I can't figure out how the bracket snapped but it must have been week as hell

Was there a service bulletin on this for 6th gen Accords that I missed? If not, is this something the dealer may fix for free? I'd like to bring my car in soon but won't have the time for a few days

Nope, it's in an I4, but it is powered. I still can't beleive it broke Sounds like it's a fairly common problem?

dont quote me on this, but i think there was some kind of recall on the 8way powered seats, where they needed to reinforce something underneath because it would break. this was for the 99 v6, i got a letter in the mail a long time ago about it i think.

but imo, most honda powered seats suck, they seem to break alot one way or another, if not it snapping, the motors get burnt or stuck or something.

Hmm, I think I'll ask the dealership to fix this for free next week. It's a huge hazzard IMO to be driving around like this and I'll be sure to let the service dept know when I stop in

Not sure how to politely ask this, but are you, well, very heavy?

As far as seats go, this reminds me of my '92 Sundance Duster. Got a recall because of a bolt in the back that could break and work itself out, if it did the back would suddenly fall flat backwards while you were driving. I took it in and mine was the only one that the dealer's mechanics had seen where the bolt had broken though of course it hadn't worked itself out (the fix was to put in a bigger bolt).
