Default dumptube piping?

What sized piping should I get for a 38mm tial wastegate dumptube? Would 1.5" work or would I need 1.625"?

Thanks in advance.

i don't know if that extra 1/8" is going to do anything...i think that most people use the 1.5"

The outlet of the wastegate should be approximately 1.5". At least mine is. You probably won't see any benefit from going larger.

yup,i always use 1.5" for those wastegates.if you want to go bigger,2" is what i use,but really no benefit unless for some reason the pipe will be VERY long.

every time i've bought 1.5" bends, they come in a "J" shape with one very long leg.usually that long leg is more than enough length.

1.5" diameter dump pipes sound like crap to me. I like to step mine to up to 1.75 and then 2" for the last 3rd. 1.5" will work prefectly fine though.
