Default building up material with TIG on aluminum: tips?

welding on cast 356 cylinder heads, I want to build up material inside ports and chambers... Does anyone have any tips on this practice? all I know so far is preheat to 300F, clean welding area lots... push the puddle rather than pull it...

The actual technique of building up material is where I could use some advice, i've never done this before.

That's what I was thinking but I'm glad you said that actually, I have no idea where to begin with this kind of stuff.
