3/3/06......around 8:00 to 8:45 when my car was broken into..while i was still asleep..i live in an apartment.......my brother woke me up to see if i move my car or left it on.....(thought he was lying)...woke up and went to check on it....the car was moved 2 feet....the ignition was on...it was all broken....everything in the car was still there.....but they couldn't start the car......thanks to the anti-theft immobilzer....hahahahaha

 

i don't know if i would be laughing about broken ignition parts

I think he's laughing at the fact that he still has it Of course....once reality soaks in I'm sure he'd be pissed. I'm glad to see at least ONE THREAD....where a teggie didnt' get jacked.

Good thing you had that or this could be another missing teg thread. I also would like to know what immobilizer your car is equipped with, I've been looking into getting one.

The anti theft immoblizer is factory equipped and i believe it comes in the 98-01 or maybe 99-01 integra gsr/type r.....its built into the ECU.

i think it only came in the 00 and 01 integras.. and was available for all model trims. i forgot where i read this.. but i read it somewhere.

 

yeah 00-01 has the black ignition thingermabob and immobilizer in the ecu, instead of a white igntion and no immobilizer in the 94-99.

 

I've heard that all you have to do is run a wire from the battery to the ignition or to the starter and the car will run. If in wrong then my bad,

your right but im not sure how they do it but thats how they stole my car i had a black ignition. they also carry a special ecu around that they use....(not to sure, thats what i heard)

dont think there's a special ecu..they just need an obd2-1 conversion harness and any obd1 ecu to get the car started....

 

its cool ur **** didn't get jacked, but no laughin matter. hope they don't come back again

Yea same here, they tried to steal my 94 GSR last year, broked the igniation and everything....but thanks to Honda-Tech, installed a fuel cut off switch in my car....so they were pusing it for a while. Still have my baby tho...Took my ECU and radio tho.....

 

i don tkno why you r are laughing but if they come back and really steal it i beat you will not be laughing then. theft is not funny. keep your car safe

 

lol seriously, why are you laughing? I'd be pissed if someone tried to steal my car and messed up the ignition. But good job to it not getting stolen.

You're right. This is why 98s and 99s are such targets...

I am upset about this thread. I thought it was going to be about some dead thieves.

Was this a option on 00-01 teg's ? Or did it come standard, because i have a 00 Ls and didnt know about this device. I sure hope i have, how do you tell ?

Good 'ol texas... cuz our laws never changed from back in the old days... if someone comes onto your property with intent to steal... you can shoot 'em... now cali really needs our law...

I COMPLETELY agree. If someone tries to steal your ****, in some ways it's like trying to steal a part of you. I don't know about you, but if someone tried to walk away with, say my arm, I'm going to defend it with my life.

 

Yea all 00-01 Tegs got the Immobilizer. All cars pretty much have that now
