205/40-17 is the 17" size that best fits Integras and Civics (except the new ones). It is almost the exact same diameter as the 185/65-14 and 195/55-15 sizes that are stock on those cars, except the pre-'96 Civics. But even for those older Civics (the ones with stock 175/70-13 and 185/60-14 tires), even though it's a bit larger in diameter than stock, it's the smallest diameter 17" size that has a fair number of tires available, so that's why it's still the best size.

Yes, they are still valid. The Bridgestone RE750 is still $63, which is an awesome deal; it's now the same price as the Kumho SPT. The RE750 is IMHO at least as good as the SPT (if not slightly better), but I don't usually recommend it because it usually costs twice as much. But in this size, the RE750 at $63 is a great buy.
Oh, and the price on the Fuzion ZRi is now down to $49, even less than posted above.
Yes, they are still valid. The Bridgestone RE750 is still $63, which is an awesome deal; it's now the same price as the Kumho SPT.
