Default Shift linkage question: removing the spring pin..? any tips?

sucker doesn't seem to want to budge.. tried a variety of sizes of center punches and a BFH.. is there some trick to this that I'm forgetting? the last time I took one apart it seems like it popped right out..?

Just get a regular punch whatever size it is 8mm? 5mm? I cant remember...
I beat on mine for a half hour trying to use a screwdriver as a punch, finally gave up and went and bought a real punch, and it came out in 30 seconds...

i just dragged out the entire engien/tranny/linkage as a whole, then popped the pin out, its so much easier to do when you have plenty of room,

i think i used a bolt that fits in the hole and a hammer
