f-series swap into a 91 crx (please help me with info)
is it possible to swap in an f22 into a 91 crx hf?? if so what companies carry the mounts and shift linkage?? and also dont post up stupid **** like "why would u wanna put an f in a crx" b/c the reason is that i want to basically i dont want opinions on the swap just info thanks in advance.
imo, not worth it. I also doubt you'll be able to find pre-fabbed mounts for stuff like that. search a bit and if you dont come up with much try searching homemadeturbo.com, those guys are all about makin **** work.
I think there is an F to B (actually H to B) series adapter so you could get a B series tranny on the F. But the adapter is a lot of money and will require a lot of fabbing for the mounts and IM shaft. If you could make it work it would be sick but there is a reason why nobody attempts this swap.
IMO, just sell the F and get your self a nice B series.

Common man search. F probably isn't worth it but to each his own.

I dont have a definite answer yet but if Hasport says there kit for the H22 EF will also work for a F series then more then likely my H22 EF kit will also work...

I know you dont wany a replie like this, but its really not worth it unless there is a mount kit, etc. you would be better off swaping in a z6 or y8 and mildly building that.

They have an adapter plate to mount an f22 on a d series transmission. retains stock axles, shift linkage, and mounts with minor modification.

H's & F's mount in the same, so any kit made for H's into EF/CRX will work with the F (Explicit speed & Hasport).
I would like most people suggest an H22, but F22's are great for boost, & F23's are great for torque.

F = H.
Read up on how to do an H series swap and do it to your F. I say do the F is you already have the motor. If not, then save up to buy an H and get about 30 more HP stock.

F-series motors look attractive due to their low cost (less than D-series) and high displacement. But the problem here is that there is no cheap way to get one in (unless you can do ALOT of custom fabrication yourself). H2B is going to be expensive, and so is the Hasport kit. Furthermore, the Hasport kit is not a true bolt-in kit, and requires some welding. This is the reason nobody swaps F-series motors. The motors may be cheap. But getting them into the car is the deal killer.
