What makes it Godly? Looks like just another pager alarm with a GIANT remote to me.

Meh, and it'll be bypassed just like all the other alarms.

I think with all the options it's about 1G .

As much as I like Clifford, I think I'm going to get the PageGaurd. It has a camera inside your cabin and you can take a picture anytime and it shows up on your LCD remote screen . Now THAT'S pimp.

The advantguard 5.5x, hmm, I've been waiting for this since I got my type R, which was a year and a half ago. I still havent found any place that sells it. Retail price is somewhere around 935 dollars or something like that. I was about to get the regular advantguard 5 for it's blackjax but the 5.5x has a remote pager up to 1 mile. Does anyone have a release date for it?

Yeah, I suppose that is impressive, but the remote is bigger than my cell phone for God's sake - who the hell wants to carry that around in their pocket?

gotta love blackjax

It's a pain at first but then it becomes second nature.

Call Fleetwood Lock and Alarm Co. on Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers, ask for Miguel and tell him that. He's something like 500 and 0 when it comes to cars he's installed Cliffords on.

He's like rainman when it comes to wiring. Within 20 minutes of having my R in the shop my entire interior was out on the floor and he was going to work with a soldering iron. He gave me my car back with a packet and a seperate book of "notes". I had to read the packet and store it @ home and memorize the "notes" and then burn it afterwards to ensure security.

There's not much information on those web sites. There are a lot of alarms on the market that have a one mile or more proximity range. What sets this one apart from the others?

I've actually been looking for a new alarm. There's an alarm system called "HAMMER" that I was looking into. It has a one mile range as well. I'm not sure if anyone has heard of it. It has an H2 on the box, and it kinda looks like one of the Viper two ways. Alarm systems are confusing.

Do you have any experience with the "HAMMER"? Do you like the "HAMMER"? When the "Hammer" turns on are you quick to turn it off?

Neat but I doubt it actually has a one mile range... I remember my Python two-way pager alarm was also quoted as having a one mile range which translated to 100 feet range... .

I think the best alarm out now is the clifford two way avant garde (the version being replaced with the alarm you posted) with the optional on-demand GPS monitoring and backup battery.

Recently the moderator at DEI's forum said he has yet to see a working prototype of the remote control. He said best case March, worst case August. But then again...last year they were saying summer 2005. Maybe we should get a betting pool going.

______________

honestly I like this alarm, but Clifford can do better, like add a sim chip in there so if the pager dosent reach us it can call our cell phones. Like the EzitrakTM does which was posted by Akira-R back in 2004.
