Default b16 with hx trans??

i have a 2000 civic si, and was wondering if it would work to put the hx 5 speed trans onto my b16? since 1st and 2nd gear are alot taller than my trans. anyboyd done this before?

D-series transmissions aren't compatible with B-series engines. Might be possible in the Monster Garage though.

thats all good and well, but the b16 has short gearing for a reason, almost all; its power is made at the high rpm range....it would take forever to arrive at the higher rpms and you'd probably fall out of VTEC when shifting....it would feel like a slug for sure
