Converting a LHD car to RHD by swapping the firewall is a huge waste of time and ruins the car, IMHO.

If you need RHD so badly, get a RHD car. I'll never understand why people think that RHD is better than LHD.

mostly likely because it is pretty rare, you dont see alot of rhd cars in the U.S well atleast on the east coast where i am, braggin rights i guess

i think it would be pretty cool to say i have a rhd car, but its def not worth the trouble of trying to convert or getting one

i concur,

it will be harder to drive on the streets, making turns blah blah blah, i know you can get used to it but still. they make cars RHD because they drive on the left side of the road. we have LHD cars because we drive on the right side of the road.

That makes absolutely no sense. Sounds like a way to impress high school kids.

There's a guy in the itr forum who did the swap.....and documented everything so we could all see his process. People flamed him for cutting up the firewal in his itr, but that guy did a pretty clean job..I remember there were some alignment issues but he solved them. I'll try to look for the post.

why do you want it "so freakin bad"?

it's a waste of time and money. here in america we drive on the right-side of the road. you want to make everything a big pain in the *** for you, wherever you go?

there are plenty of other things to waste your money on, that will give you the attention that you're desperate for.

For real. He didnt ask for a new *******, just wanted info on the swap.

From what I have seen it looks like it would take a bunch of work, but your right its diffrent. I personally would like to have one. I am left handed, and drove one before, It seemed much more natural for some reason. BTW is your mom a mail woman? Or did she just randomly buy a RHD jeep. I have looked at some RHD wranglers, that would be cool to own.

IMO, if you have to be m4d jDm y0 then buy a car with the RHD conversion already done. It will save hella time and money.

I know a person who's car was totatled, right after he converted it to RHD. He took to the insurance company to get better coverage, they saw it was RHD, knew it was a LHD car before a totaled after the figured that the amount of repairs was more than 70% value of the car....

What if he hadn't thought about the hassle of driving a RHD car on roads meant for LHD vehicles? There have been more than a few occasions where people thought something was a good idea, until others gave them advice that changed their mind.

i would never have the ***** to do that to my teggy...especially because i know that if i expletive up, i dont have the money to fix it.... id rather just find a rhd teg and buy it.

to the guy above who said he though it was easier and more natural driving RHD i totally agree. i was in south africa for a month with my mom dad and sister, and we drove land rover defenders turbo diesel, RHD 5 spd. it was alot easier to shift and felt better than driving LHD.

um besides the turning thing you guys realize that paid parking structures, toll roads and heck even drive thrus will now be a huge pain in the rear. You will have to either drive with a passenger all the time. or get one of those old people grabing claw arm things aka trash picker uppers.

I always wonder, since everyone here wants a RHD car, do the people in Japan want a LHD car?

most likely yeah, since ppl here in states just want a RHD vehicle just to be different and or to have bragging rights. For a matter of fact i've seen pix here on h-t that there were LHD USDM eg civic owners in japan it was trippy seein it but its true, this would be a hard search since i saw this about 2-3yrs ago.

RHD cars is over rated... Ive owned one.. you cant see when you pass... you cant see when you have to make a left turn with someones in front of you making a right!... all the damn attention and questions that come with it sucks.. thanks!
