Default window regulator

i have power windows and the other day i went to roll my windows down and halfway down i heard a thunk and then the glass just started to roll down slowly by itself. when i tried puting it back up, i could hear the motor humming fine, but the window just stayed there. (btw this is a 96 accord ex 2dr) i took the door panel off and saw that one of the steel cables had popped out of the part that slides up and down to move the window. the box that the two cables go into is messed up somehow cuz those two cables keep gettin jammed up in there. is that called the window regulator and how much does that part cost?

I hear you can get regulators at Advance auto for a lot less than the dealer. I think when I checked on one for my 4th gen it was $210 at the dealer. I didn't get one from Advance. Just what I heard. The regulator comes as an assembly. Don't think you can buy just one part of it.

You've the right attitude, if the car's a "keeper", go oem
If you're looking to sell it, who cares?
