When I start engine all doors become locked. It is really annoying so I want to disable that. Is it possible to do it?

My stupid Toyota used to do that. I would get in, turn the key, and have to unlock the door again so my slow as* brother could get in too. Sorry, wish I knew how to disable that one too before I traded it in. Neither of my Honda's did that.

That's not a standard feature from Honda. Did you buy the car used? My guess is that there is still an aftermarket alarm installed.

yes, I bought it used with installed Python alarm, so may be it causes locking doors.

Even Honda's factory Alarm doesn't do that. It's definitely the Python.

Yeah i would look up the manual for your alarm online (you should be able to search for it and find it on google by model number) and there is most likely a way to disable this feature

If you have the manual, look for either "passive" door locking or "active" door locking. Right now, the option is set to passive door locks when the car is started (or ingition turned on). (Passive, meaning, you don't have to do anything to lock the doors.) Almost all aftermarket alarms have the option to turn this off...

no big deal, but he'd like to diasble it the auto-lock feature. If you can help him do that (you know, if you have the manual), please do so...

Within the same brand, most of the different models usually have the same procedure for each option, unless there's a big difference in the years they were made.

You should try finding their website and sending them an email to be sure.

yeah I think the 5th gen honda alarms locked the doors because my parents had a 95 accord lx v6 and it had the factory alarm and it locked the doors when you turned it on and unlocked them when you turned it off

When I bought my 95 accord EX, Honda dealer steered me to a Chapman alarm system, instead of a factory Honda alarm. They had someone come to the Honda dealer to install it.

But my door locks always locked the doors when the ignition key was turned, and unlocked the doors when the ignition key was turned off; I think even before the alarm was installed.

The car actually had some other security feature (some kind of electronic chip) installed even before that (not an alarm), but I did not want to pay for that, so they uninstalled that. The other security feature needed the electronic chip and the ignition key to start.

the one my parents had was honda one that later got replaced by the dealer because it had a car jacking feature that my mom accidently activated and stranded herself till I came to get her and pulled the alarm fuses. Turned out that honda wasnt thinking too well about the carjacking feature because there was no way to turn it off once it got activated. The alarm would go off and the car would not start till I pulled the power fuses from it.
