Help on mini-me vtec
I own a 88 CRX HF, and took out the old motor because it was blowned. I just purchased a D16A6 with a VTEC head. And i got a couple of questions.
What distributor can i use for it? I tried using my old one but only screws with one bolt.
How can i wire up the VTEC to work?
On my HF harness the EGR plug is not connected. Should it matter?
How do I connect the vacuum routing?
What else do i need to know about making it to work right?

you got some homework to do man...
92-95 sohc distributor (will not plug right in you need to re-pin or order an adapter harness)
order a obd0->obd1 conversion harness it comes with instructions and tells you what else you will need...
-distributor 92-95 sohc
-sohc vtec ecu
-4 wire o2 sensor
-obd0->obd1 conversion harness (come with the vtec sub harness)
vaccum routing you will have to SEARCH for and you will find diagrams on
make sure when they put the head on they took the plug out of the block so you can get oil up to the pressure switch or vtec wont work

What vtec head are we talking about ? Im assuming the D16z6 since you say the hf dizzy wont bolt up..You have a couple choices..The best thing to do would be get a obd1 d16z6 dizzy..convert your car to obd1 and run a p28 ecu..But you can stay obdo,,you have to cut off one of the legs on the obd0 dizzy to make it fit on the d16z6 head..Then you can get a 90-91 pm6 or pr4 ecu and have it socketed and chiped and run a program called turboedit and run the one wire vtec setup...Or you can get a stock pm6 and wire in some kind of rpm switch and run which I dont recommend because the fuel/timing maps are wrong for a sohc vtec..Also make sure the oil jet is out of the D16a6 block otherwise vtec will never work..Dont worry about the EGR ,,you dont need it anymore..Search this site for more info though..Search "mini"

i would just buy one saves alot of hassle but if you wanna do one you have to study the pin outs on a pm6 and a p28 and match the pin outs and than add the wires for 4 wire o2, vtec solinoid, vtec pressure switch, ect.
