Default any decent suspension (coilover) setups around $800?

I never really pay attention to suspension parts for the R. Ive always been content with my stock shocks and HR springs. Well I think the time is near and my stock shocks are on the way out. Im not really looking for anything crazy. Doesnt necessarily have to be damper adjustable but I would like the ability for height adjustment.

Omnipower just came out with adjustable full coilovers. It retails on their site for $999 but you can find them for $849.99 most places. They come with 8k, 10k, and 12k springs.

I'm still on record saying there is nothing wrong with Omnipowers.

why do you say that?? are they viewed otherwise by the majority? I could search, but I figure there isnt much else going on and would like fresh opinions.

yes, alot of people will tell you to stay away from them, i think for the money they're great. when they first came out people had problems with them actually snapping in half believe it or not, but since have been fixed and are alot more beefier

My next set-up .

I run Teins now and they are too stiff. Not enough dampening for the springs. Apparently Tein coilovers without adjustable dampening is infamous for that problem.

But I'd stick with stock over Tein Basics. Don't throw something on the car just to lower it. Do it right and get something that will work for the application.

is the Koni/GC setup adjustable? i always though that was just another spring/shock combo with no damper or height adjustment.

You have experience running both?

My money will almost always go to Bils or Koni's with custom rate Ground Controls.

The PIC stuff looks nice but I haven't driven a car with them yet.

Ground Controls are threaded sleeves with whatever rate springs you want. Koni's are adjustable and can be modified to be double adjustable.

You simply cannot go wrong with Konis and GCs. Get whatever rates you want, then change out springs later if you want something more aggressive.

I use the omni sports on my type r and I love them for the price. With the money I saved I bought traction bars.

Without a doubt. Best thing you could get new for that kind of money (and even for much more)
