Are you taking about just the rubber blade part or the rubber and metal spring assembly?
If it's the wiper assembly just pull it away from the windshield. Rotated the blade assembly so that it face away from the windshield. You should then see a little plastic tab with the assembly meets the wiper arm. Push it down and the blade should pull away with some limited force.

Give it a good go. Worse comes to works you will break the windshild wiper. You are replacing it anyways. You can try dropping a bit of WD40 to see if it helps.
