Default new here...

Hey all, just bought a 99 GS-R, its stock as can be. Im new to the 4cyl. world, figured i'd step down from the v-8's. I must admit, 8200 rpm kicks ***!

I would actually keep it a little lower than 8200, cause the tach is known to be off by a little bit. Otherwise, enjoy the car, keep her safe, and don't do anything stupid.

there is typically no need to rev that high unless you have supporting mods.

Welcome to Honda-Tech. There are a bunch of wusses posting here. Drive it like you stole it. With the GSR torque curve, the optimal shift point is immediately before the rev limiter intervenes.

For those of you afraid to rev, seek an engine with greater displacement.

8200 isnt an all the time thing but hey, its cool! im gonna do the basics, just try to keep it simple.... (i say that now...)

header, catback, short-ram intake, short shifter, coil-overs. its bone stock, and CLEAN!!! imaculate engine bay.... ahh i love it!
