Default HEADLIGHTS

Hey guys i have a 2000 Honda accord ex coupe... Ive seen some accords that they do a tsx headlight conversions. I just wanted to do some research and wonder if this is a direct bolt on conversion or is there any modifications to such things as the hood, bumper, or fenders?

what did you expect?

doing a TSX FRONTEND conversion would be the same if you doing it to an accord or Mr2 or a F150 extended cab.

fender, hood, bumper, headlight, rad. support, front end beam, headlight wiring, nothing is bolt on.

i guess my next question is do you have the time and money to do so.

What will make or break your project will be YOUR research. You're going to have to take the Accord Parts Manual, and the TSX Parts Manual and conpare part numbers of the underlying sheet metal and determine if they share the same understructure between them.
If they do, it will be a pick & paste project.
If they don't, it'll become a cut and weld extravaganza.

I thought I read of a convertion in Hondatuner Magazine for this....but it's still a fuzzy memory.

Why does that look like a stock accord with blacked out headlights to me?

There's this little loud-mouth of a guy yelling in some back portion of my brain (what little I've got left) yelling that it's a bolt & go thing.
For years, I delt with GM; with their theories of sinergy (all car lines using the same vehicle chassis platform - and just hanging unique exterior sheat metal. Much like the 5th Gen Accord and the Acura CL using the same center compartment / glass etc.
It's a beautiful treatment, and I'd like to know the answer myself (so I guess I've got a lot of Googling to do) wish me luck

P

*And I don't have the answers for everything (thanks for the plug tho)

the front end on that silver accord is stock besides the lip and the black out headlights, that is not a tsx conversion, fyi its a 2001+ accord, 98-2000 came with a different front bumper

I have to agree.
The 2005 TSX (for example) has a more defined V along the top of the bumper cover. Refer:

they are talking about taking the projectors out and mounting them into a stock accord housing and then installing a HID kit

In which case you would NOT be performing a headlight conversion but a PROJECTOR RETROFIT. That is what this is called and it is all custom.
