Default Gas Mileage For OBD1

Hey Guys,

I'm running the OBD1, and I'm getting 200 MPG per Full Tank.

Is the cause of the low mileage because of the OBD?

I also have an exhaust leak, so I was thinking that might also be the problem

Thanks

There are alot more reasons why your getting low mileage,
Check your tire pressure, thats the number 1 reason.

I went from 220 a tank to 330 a tank by having my wheels balanced, alignment (4 wheel was needed), making sure tire pressure was correct (number 1 reason, i forget how many gallons of fuel they say is wasted by american's each year due to incorrect tire pressure) and changing my oil. Haven't even done the tuneup yet.

oh crap, i think i need a full allignment for my car i'm getting 220MPG wants 320 though

PS. my tires pressure rating is 44.5, and i am at around 39.5 - 40.5 ... do you think that is too stiff for the car? or that is good, cause from what i understand is, is that the pressure is recommended @ 10 below the rating on the tire itself....

help?

For city ahd hwy driving, I get roughly 260-300 on a full tank in my obd1 94 gsr. If its all city, then I get 220-260. If its all highway, I get 300+... From reading h-t, I have learned that there are quite a few factors for getting good gas mileage.

Things to check and/or replace...
oil
tire pressure
alignment
spark plugs
cap & rotor
fuel filter
exhaust leaks

and there are a few more...cant remember right now.

I got a 95 DB8 and I get about the same gas mileage as lqdcourage, 300~375. She's all stock except for suspension and wheels.

I'd like to get some 15 inch rota's and see if that'll increase my gas mileage. Got 17 inchers on her right now, brought her from my brother like that.

Peace
TQ
