This is what I did. I cleaned the the IACV on the back of the manifold with some carbureator cleaner. Then I did the same thing with another part (forgot what its called ) that was under the throttle body. Another trick is to open it up where there is 2 phillips heads is holding a small plate. You should see a plastic looking piece with a large slice in it. You then use a flat head screwdriver and turn it clockwise until it stops. Close it back up. Hook everything back up. Also check for any vaccum leaks that might cause a weird idle.

I had an idle prob, that was becouse of a nasty egr valve. Sorry no pics, spendind all extra money on car (no diggy cam yet).
If you pop yor hod and your standing in front of your car look to the r of your intake just befor it meets w/ the motor. Should be two fuel lines, an electrical connection, and two bolts holing it on.
There is three screws on the l side of the egr, remove and clean the hell out of it. I used gum out carb cleaner, and a flathead screwdriver. You can also sprey the hell out of the two portholes where the egr meets the intake. This corrected my prob.
I figured this out by starting my car let it run to operating temp(my idle would then start jumping), and unplgged my egr and the idle corrected, plug it back in and started bouncing again.
My buddie is comming over tomorrow so we can start his gsr swap if you need pics I'll have him bring his camera. Just let me know. Hope I helped in some way.

His Si motor shouldn't have an EGR valve..

Take the IACV off the back of the intake manifold (by the firewall. it's held on with two 12mm bolts and has two small coolant lines running to it). You'll see two holes, one of which probably has a mesh screen on it. Spray these down with some carb or throttle body cleaner and get all the gunk out of there. They tend to get gummed up on older motors a lot.

Also, if you're having idle problems, check your timing. Mine was wanting to die out recently, and its because somehow it got retarded to about 2* BTDC

I cleaned the IACV today. I followed the instructions on listed on the external site. Here is the link to another site that really helped.

After cleaning the IACV, it appears to have helped.

Hope this helps.
