I was about to do a compression , and i was about to take out my fuel pump fuse when i realize that there are 2 fuses for the fuel pump and i am missing one of them (lower one). Is this normal and has it been affecting my performance?

Can anyone check if they got 2 slots for 15a fuel pump fuses and is missing the lower one.

 

I noticed it in my car and a few of my friends car...I'm guessing its something that is in all 5th Gen.

 

did you put the missing fuse in

 

sort of off topic but, I just pull the connectors off the top of the injectors when I do a compression test. I figure that way no fuel will get in. There will be pressure in the fuel lines even if the pump is not on, until it bleeds off.

No need to put the 2nd fuse in, if the pump needed more than 15amp you would of blown the one you do have.

 

do you have that second fuse on now ? the reason i ask is because my car smokes alot and i think i am runing really rich and this could be the problem.

 

Nope, I just left it out. My car still works just fine, so I don't see any reason to put it in
