Default Difference in Auto and Manual shift console??

Was wondering if there was a difference in the auto and manual shift consoles on the 96-00 Coupes. Gotta know before I go out and buy one from a Manual car.

That got my attention

If by shift console you mean center console then yes youll need a manual one. You could custom an auto one for what you need but i would get manual.

There basicly the same the insert in the middle is all that changes, That part is interchangeable so if you get a new one you can swap that out altho its easier to get the right one from the get go.

No what's left from the auto is just an empty space, no letter no numbers nothing, just an empty space. I Just wanted to know the major difference in them, like if one was bigger then the other?

BTW: I knew that "VTECH" would get your attention Mwuahhaha

I feel bad, nobody's answering his question..

He's saying he has an auto, and he wants to buy a shift area console, and I guess he can get one for a manual, what's the differences, will it fit, etc.

As for my advice, I know nothing of automatic civics, I know ONE person who has one...know somebody taht bought the body of one, but dropped a manual in it anyways :-\

EDIT:
Do measurements of the hole where it says "P,R,N,D," etc. or 1,2,3,4,5,R, see if it matches that from the manual, you might have to do a little cutting or it'll be a little loose around the piece that the auto shifter goes into, but it should, for all tenths and purposes, fit.

good luck

Nuh uh. I have a 5spd. Went from Auto > Manual, just wondering if I could use the auto shift console again and just buy a boot for it and fab it to fit. Need to know if the Manual one has any major difference from the auto one. Like not as tall or something.

The manual has 6 little metal sprockets to hold the shift boot. If its an auto console...it doesn't.

That's it? It's not bigger or smaller?
