Default Best way to clean an old/dirty carburator

Well, I finally was able to get my 1984 Honda Aero 125 out of storage and bring it down to school to work on it. I remembered having troubles with the carburator so that's the first thing I took a look at.

I found this.

I've heard of a few things you can do but i'm not sure which would work best, or if some of them would even work.

Should I soak it in gas? Soak it in Carb Cleaner? Seafoam? Coca-Cola?

Or should I take the long road and search for a new carburator that could replace this one, or TRY to find a rebuild kit which I'm sure will be impossible.

once aluminum starts to oxidize its pretty much gone, I dont see that here... use a parts washer and go to town with the bristles. you can also source a need old stock part or a race upgrade part

since you said that you were taking the bike to school i am imagining that the school is a shop and i am willing to bet their is a solvent tank. scrub the **** out of it in the solvent tank and then spray it out with brake cleaner. this **** will eat somes stuff off and it evaporates. check it over to make sure it is all clean and then get a rebuild kit and go to town.
