Pulled a Code 9 on my V6 6th gen
Ok so I just pulled a Code 9 today but it only applies for the 4cyl as the Haynes states. I have a V6 and the code is for CYP. Is there a code 9 for the V6 that isnt listed? I have a 98 BTW.

I would check the code again....
the car is OBD2 so for the most part the codes are pretty standard. it is possible for some of the V6 cars to throw that code if they are DIS (no distributor) engines.
How did you get that code?
There is a complete code list in the FAQ: 6th gen 98-02 thread.
I looked around at some other sites and they are all indicating that something is wrong with the distributor........I'd start there......

I think it might be code 90. I did the paperclip trick.
My car is also a 98 so it still has a dizzy. Ill venture to "the Zone" to check it out.

If is a code 90 it could be just a loose gas cap, I filled my car with it running and didn't quite tighten the cap all the way and got that code the next day, tightened the cap and the CEL went out after four days of driving back and forth to work.
