how does a comptech ice box sound?
Does the Comptech Icebox sound like a AEM cai? I wanted to know because I havent heard the Icebox on any car whatsoever. Does it have a nice sound.

I think it has a very nice sound. Not as loud as the AEM, but it has a deeper tone than stock. The difference in VTEC is very noticable, however it's not obnoxious.

Yes.
It is louder that stock but, just by a little down low in the RPM, then when it hits Vtec X over it howls. But, doens't make that Gawd aweful annoying Bwaaaaahhhh! Or the Whistle that the AEM annoyed me with.
It is worth it but, just buy the Icebox and filter NOT their polished pipe. The pipe seems to only be for looks. You CAN attach their filter to the icebox and save you some o money with just about the same gains as with thie pipe.

But its nice to have function and form. Comptech Icebox on ever car I have seen it on with both AEM and ICEBOX, the icebox losses som peak 1-hp but makes up for it in fat midrange

If you use the stock rubber intake tube, it will sound a little deeper and louder than stock. The metal tube on aftermarket intake systems is what generates most of the noise cause it does not absorb the intake sounds like the stock rubber intake tube.

Icebox is the ****. no complaints here. When you want the AEM sound, just take off your filter cover and it sounds just like the AEM. Mine is off right now in fact and it sounds crazy.

Holy god.... i've never heard of anyone thinking the aem sounds annoying...
The Comptech is a decent piece - it also has a much smoother power curve then the AEM, which has a 4400 rpm spike.
